Understanding Audio Effects

Speed Control

What it does: Changes the playback speed of your audio without affecting pitch.

Effect: Lower values (70-90%) create that dreamy, slowed-down aesthetic. Higher values speed up the track.

Tip: 80-85% is the sweet spot for most slowed + reverb tracks.

Reverb

What it does: Adds spatial depth and echo to your audio, simulating different room sizes.

Effect: Creates that spacious, atmospheric sound that makes music feel more immersive and dreamy.

Tip: 60-80% reverb works best for most tracks. Too much can make vocals muddy.

Bass Boost

What it does: Enhances low-frequency sounds to make the bass more prominent.

Effect: Adds warmth and depth to your track, making it feel fuller and more powerful.

Tip: 5-10dB boost is usually enough. Too much can cause distortion.

Echo

What it does: Creates delayed repetitions of the audio signal.

Effect: Adds rhythmic repetitions that can enhance the dreamy, floating feeling.

Tip: Use sparingly (20-40%) to avoid overwhelming the original audio.

Low Pass Filter

What it does: Removes high frequencies, making the audio sound warmer and softer.

Effect: Creates a muffled, vintage sound that’s perfect for lo-fi aesthetics.

Tip: Try 8000-12000Hz for a subtle vintage feel, lower for more dramatic effect.

Volume

What it does: Controls the overall loudness of your processed audio.

Effect: Ensures your final track has the right volume level for sharing or personal listening.

Tip: Keep it at 100% unless you need to compensate for other effects making it too loud/quiet.
